Where our prices come from
We pull prices from four places, line them up by barcode, and tell you how fresh and how sure each one is. No guessing.
Four price sources
Store websites
The price and stock a store posts online for your local store.
Weekly flyers
This week's sale prices, with the date they end. Like “valid thru Tue.”
Receipts
When shoppers scan a receipt, each line becomes a real price paid.
Shelf photos
A photo of the shelf tag confirms what the store is charging today.
How we match and how sure we are
Stores name things differently. A flyer says “Publix Whole Milk Gal $3.49”, a receipt says “PBX WHL MLK GAL”. We tie both to the same barcode, Publix Whole Milk, 1 gal (UPC 0 41483 03141, example). When several sources agree, you see one price for that store.
- High
Two or more sources agree, or the barcode matched exactly.
- Medium
One good source, like a recent receipt or shelf photo.
- Low
One report that looks off. It waits for a second report before it counts.
Spot a bad match? Tap “Wrong match?” on any product and we review it.
Always shows how fresh it is
Every price says when it was last seen, like “seen 2h ago” or “seen 1d ago”. Older prices drop down the list, and flyer prices disappear when the sale ends.
Starting in Sarasota and Venice, FL
We are launching with the stores most people here shop, so the prices are deep, not thin. More areas come next.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes. Scanning, the price map and lists are free.
Do stores pay to rank higher?
No. Cheapest shows first, always.
What do you do with my receipts?
We read the store, items and prices. We never sell your personal info.
Why is a price missing?
Nobody has reported it recently. Scan it and you can add it.
Are these prices guaranteed?
No. Prices can change; check in store. Values on this page are examples.
